The Princess of Wales is renowned for her competitive and athletic spirit, as confirmed by royal family member Mike Tindall. Mike, who is married to Prince William’s cousin Zara Tindall, shared that Kate enjoys participating in the party game beer pong, albeit with a royal twist of playing ‘prosecco pong’ instead of beer.
As per Mike, who is Princess Anne’s son-in-law and a former England rugby player, he has engaged in beer pong matches with Kate at gatherings, where the objective is to land ping pong balls into cups filled with alcohol. He mentioned that the royal gatherings can get lively, highlighting the competitive nature that runs in the royal family.
In a Woman & Home magazine interview, Mike discussed the family’s love for sports, mentioning a podcast featuring William, Catherine, and Princess Anne discussing their passion for sports. Mike humorously recalled witnessing Kate’s intense competitiveness during a game of beer pong, emphasizing her drive to win even in casual settings.
This is not the first time Mike has spoken about Kate’s beer pong skills. In a previous podcast episode in 2023 with Prince William and Princess Anne, he jokingly referred to Kate as being extremely competitive. Despite Kate denying her competitiveness, Mike humorously reiterated that he had witnessed her prowess in beer pong. Recently, Mike made a playful comment about Prince Harry’s transition to a more reserved lifestyle.
Regarding his personal life, Mike met Zara Phillips, Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter, during the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia. Their engagement was announced in December 2010, leading to a wedding in July 2011 in Edinburgh. The couple resides at Aston Farm on Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire with their three children, living in a renovated Grade II listed farmhouse near Anne’s primary residence.
Mike Tindall, a seasoned rugby player with numerous accolades, including being part of England’s 2003 World Cup-winning squad, has had a successful career in rugby, with significant achievements in Six Nations tournaments. His wedding to Zara marked a significant milestone in their relationship, solidifying their place within the royal family’s extended circle.
