“Royal Unease: King Charles’ Behavior at White House Raises Eyebrows”

Published on

King Charles and Queen Camilla have made their entrance into Washington DC to commence a busy four-day state visit, receiving an official greeting from President Trump and First Lady Melania at the White House.

The royal couple arrived in the U.S. capital on Monday, where they were welcomed by Donald and Melania Trump. Melania and Camilla shared a warm embrace, while Trump and Charles exchanged handshakes. Despite Charles’ familiarity with state visits, a body language expert noted a difference in his demeanor during the welcome in the U.S.

The state visit has stirred controversy recently, particularly following a shooting incident at the White House Correspondents dinner over the weekend, where Trump was targeted.

According to body language expert Bruce Durham from Huddle Culture, Charles appeared more preoccupied and reserved than usual, possibly indicating a sense of unease in light of the shooting.

Durham observed a shift in Charles’ behavior, suggesting signs of distraction and lack of focus during key moments of the welcome. He attributed this behavior to a potential activation of the sympathetic nervous system triggered by recent events.

The expert highlighted Charles’ self-soothing gestures, such as placing his hand on his thigh, as an attempt to calm his mind and refocus his attention. As the visit progressed, Charles seemed to transition back to his more familiar and composed demeanor, reflecting the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system.

Durham speculated that the recent shooting incident may have been at the forefront of Charles’ thoughts, impacting his initial behavior. Despite the initial unease, Charles eventually returned to his typical regal demeanor as the visit unfolded.

The expert noted that Charles’ initial jittery behavior, while unusual for the King, could be attributed to heightened awareness of potential threats amid the polarizing nature of the state visit.

Overall, Durham emphasized the observable shift in Charles’ behavior from initial unease to a more composed state, suggesting a gradual return to his customary demeanor as the visit progressed.
