Ruby Wax Criticizes I’m A Celebrity for David Haye’s Conduct

Published on

Ruby Wax has expressed disapproval of I’m A Celebrity for broadcasting David Haye’s conduct. The ex-boxer has faced criticism for his behavior recently in the jungle.

Haye, aged 45, caused a stir among his fellow campmates when he derogatorily referred to his girlfriend as an “ugly bird” and stood by his remarks. He tried to justify his stance by mentioning the “ugly duckling syndrome,” suggesting that women who are not supermodels must exert more effort to be noticed.

In a separate incident, he labeled Adam Thomas as “useless” after the actor, from a well-off background, couldn’t participate in a challenge due to health issues. Haye accused Thomas of playing the victim.

Reacting to David’s actions, former contestant Ruby Wax criticized the show, expressing concerns about the influence on younger viewers. She highlighted the positive approach taken during her time on I’m A Celebrity and emphasized the importance of respecting everyone’s qualities and character.

Ruby revealed that ITV was apprehensive about the campmates forming close bonds as it might affect viewership. She emphasized the significance of human connections and understanding across age and gender barriers.

Currently, Ruby is on a national tour, sharing her experiences, including interviews with controversial figures like O.J. Simpson and Donald Trump.

Discussing her encounter with O.J. Simpson, Ruby mentioned sensing fear and a potential dissociative identity disorder in individuals facing criminal accusations. She recounted O.J.’s infamous murder case involving his ex-wife and her friend, shedding light on her interactions with him during the trial.

Ruby highlighted the diminishing appeal of TV interviews due to the influence of PR strategies. She is now involved with Earth Raise, a charity initiative aiming to raise funds for environmental causes.

She emphasized the urgent need to address environmental issues and praised the efforts of those contributing to the Earth Raise campaign. Ruby also commended Big Give’s matching donation scheme, aiming to reach a fundraising target by 2030.

Moreover, Ruby’s mental health charity, Frazzled Cafe, has received support from Big Give. She emphasized the importance of early intervention in mental health and the continuous support provided by Frazzled Cafe.

Ruby emphasized the importance of addressing environmental challenges and the potential impact of collective action in restoring the planet. She advocated for increased awareness and action to tackle environmental concerns.

To support the Earth Raise campaign and have donations matched, individuals can visit www.biggive.org before the deadline on April 29th.
