A prominent Russian figure closely associated with Vladimir Putin is calling for strikes to be carried out at the personal residences of top Western politicians as a form of retaliation for their support of Ukraine. Dmitry Rogozin, a former deputy premier and head of the Russian space agency, criticized the recent list of targets identified by Russia, which included locations in London, Reading, Leicester, and Suffolk, alleging that these areas were involved in supplying arms to Ukraine. Rogozin emphasized the need to expand the list to include the work and home addresses of all Western politicians responsible for decisions that have led to Russian casualties, describing them as legitimate military targets and war criminals deserving of elimination.
The Russian politician, who currently serves as a senator for an unlawfully occupied region in Ukraine and oversees a drone unit aligned with the Kremlin, also hinted at the possibility of targeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Rogozin drew parallels with Israel’s strategy of eliminating enemy leadership, suggesting a similar approach should be adopted. He pointed out that Ukraine enjoys significant technological, political, and financial backing from various Western nations, particularly highlighting the support from the United States.
While Rogozin refrained from naming specific Western leaders to be targeted, he criticized the Ministry of Defence’s published list as only a fraction of the extensive support provided to Russia’s adversaries. As a former Russian representative to NATO and a key figure in the country’s space agency, Rogozin has been involved in the testing of Russia’s advanced nuclear missile systems.
The remarks made by Rogozin have raised concerns about escalating tensions between Russia and the West, with his calls for strikes on Western politicians’ residences adding a new dimension to the ongoing conflict in the region.
