“Russian Insider Plans Power Shift Against Putin”

Published on

Vladimir Putin is expected to face an internal challenge from discontented members of his close circle in what has been described as an upcoming “palace coup” within the next year, as per a Russian insider.

In a bold move, lawyer Ilya Remeslo, previously a strong supporter of Russia’s actions towards Ukraine and believed to have ties to the Russian security apparatus, expressed his intentions in a television interview. Remeslo, risking potential repercussions, openly expressed his aspirations to lead a new era in Russia post a “revolution” and play a role in the transition of power.

These explosive statements were made during a remarkable interview with well-known media personality Ksenia Sobchak, who is often referred to as Putin’s “goddaughter.”

Remeslo pointedly blamed Putin, 72, as the primary cause of Russia’s current challenges, stating, “The man at the very top, the one who runs it all, it’s Vladimir Putin. It’s obvious. Everyone knows it.” He further emphasized his familiarity with combating Putin and understanding the system’s vulnerabilities and dynamics.

In contrast to the tragic fate of opposition figure Alexei Navalny, who was widely believed to have been assassinated in a Russian prison, Remeslo highlighted his insider status within the system.

“I am reaching out to those still within the system, undecided about their next move. Do not fear, victory is certain, and our time is near,” Remeslo reassured, outlining his strategy to unite voices against Putin and become a representative of the masses opposing the current regime.

Anticipating significant transformations by the end of 2026 to early 2027, Remeslo envisioned the dismantling of the existing system and the emergence of a new era in Russia, possibly through a “palace coup” or a peaceful revolution akin to historical transitions.

While assuring viewers that the transition would be peaceful and transformative, Remeslo hinted at the deep-seated discontent among government insiders towards Putin, citing grievances over lost privileges and power consolidation.

Regarding potential successors, Remeslo suggested three names, with one being Mikhail Mishustin, the current Prime Minister known for his compliance with Putin’s directives. The other contenders included Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister for Economic Development, and Alexei Dyumin, Putin’s former bodyguard and a prominent figure within the Kremlin.

In envisioning a post-Putin Russia, Remeslo depicted a right-wing, economically robust nation open to foreign investments, promising a business-friendly environment with minimal tax burdens.

Having publicly denounced Putin as a war criminal and a corrupt leader, Remeslo faced backlash, including a stint in a psychiatric facility reminiscent of Soviet-era repression. However, he persisted in his criticisms, signaling potential support from elements within the security establishment.

As the landscape in Russia undergoes potential shifts, Remeslo’s outspoken stance against Putin underscores the simmering discontent within the country’s political elite.
