A man in St. Petersburg, Timur Demidenko, has been accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend, alleging she was a British spy. Prior to this incident, he reportedly decapitated a pigeon and later ran naked into the street. Concerned neighbors alerted the police, leading to the discovery of the woman’s body in his disheveled apartment where he confessed to the crime, claiming he was safeguarding Russia from a perceived threat.
Demidenko, with a history of previous convictions, has been apprehended and admitted to the killing, expressing regret for his actions. He is currently undergoing psychiatric evaluations as part of the murder investigation while being held in pre-trial detention.
In a separate incident in St. Petersburg last year, Yevgeny Andreyev surrendered to authorities after murdering his partner, Daria ‘Dora’ Perevozchikova, following an altercation over missing foreign currency. Andreyev confessed to the crime, detailing how he attacked Perevozchikova with a mallet, leading to her death. He then lived with her body for weeks, deceiving her friends and family through messages sent from her phone and keeping the windows open to mask the smell of decomposition.
After Perevozchikova’s father reported her missing, Andreyev was urged by a lawyer friend to turn himself in to the police, ending the macabre charade.
