Horrified residents have likened a destroyed Ukrainian residence to a “grave” following a suspected Russian missile strike that tragically claimed the lives of ten members of a single family. The victims are identified as parents Artem Voronov, 47, and Olena, 41, along with seven of their children and an 18-month-old grandson.

The devastating incident took place as Russian forces sought retaliation against Ukraine for recent attacks within Russia, targeting President Volodymyr Zelensky’s hometown of Kryvyi Rih. The assault involved 70 missiles and over 280 drones, resulting in significant destruction to numerous civilian properties and infrastructure, as confirmed by Ukrainian President Zelensky.

The family tragedy unfolded in the village of Radushne in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where two homes were obliterated. The children lost in the strike were Mark, 17; Dominika, 16; Viorika, 14; Zakharii, 13; Azarii Ilai, 11; Federika, nine; and Emilia, seven. Additionally, the couple’s grandson, also named Artem, was just 18 months old.

Rescuers are currently working to identify the remains of the victims, with one of the sons, Matvii Voronov, reportedly learning about the tragedy through an online village forum. The couple had ten children and three grandchildren, with the youngest grandchild present during the fatal attack.

The heartbreaking incident, which completely destroyed two homes and damaged five others, has left the community in mourning. Polish authorities were on high alert as reports emerged of potential missile incursions into their airspace during Russia’s widespread assault on Ukrainian territories. The devastating strike serves as a stark reminder of the profound impact of the ongoing conflict on innocent civilian lives.
