TV presenter Ruth Langsford has publicly apologized to her dance partner Anton Du Beke from the popular show Strictly Come Dancing. Reflecting on her participation in the fifteenth season of the BBC program back in 2017, the 65-year-old shared her initial wish to be paired with the well-known professional dancer.

Despite acknowledging Anton’s talent, Ruth revealed that part of her preference for him over other dancers stemmed from not wanting a younger, attractive partner to avoid any discomfort for her teenage son.

In her book ‘Feeling Fabulous,’ Ruth recalled the moment when she expressed her desire to have Anton as her partner, even though the show’s producers had the final say on pairings.

She wrote, “I already knew Anton a bit and admired his supportiveness towards his celebrity partners. I specifically didn’t want a young, attractive partner.”

Addressing Anton directly, Ruth humorously expressed her gratitude for being paired with him despite her concerns about their age difference. She vividly described the unforgettable moment she enthusiastically ran towards him upon learning they would dance together.

The amusing encounter between Ruth and Anton has become a cherished memory for both, with Anton often playfully recounting the incident with added embellishments during his performances.
