TV personality Ruth Langsford recently shared a story about receiving advice from her former husband Eamonn Holmes, who cautioned her about the limited time they had together as they faced a difficult decision.

The renowned Loose Women host, aged 65, tied the knot with her colleague in 2010 before announcing their separation in 2024. The couple, who have been a couple since 1996, have a son named Jack, who is now 24 years old.

During their time together, they were offered the opportunity to co-host This Morning during the summer break in 2020. Ruth, in her book Feeling Fabulous, revealed her initial hesitation due to her desire to spend quality time with Jack during the holidays.

Despite the attractive offer, Ruth was concerned about missing out on precious moments with her teenage son. Eamonn, however, warned her that rejecting the offer could jeopardize their future on the show.

Ultimately, they accepted the gig and had a successful stint on the show that summer, much to the delight of This Morning viewers. Ruth admitted that it was a tough decision to make, acknowledging the impact on her career and the demands of the job.

Reflecting on her past experiences, Ruth returned to This Morning as a guest after her divorce from Eamonn. She shared her thoughts on moving forward after a public breakup, emphasizing the importance of resilience and starting anew.
