Former Loose Women star Saira Khan has announced her permanent departure from television. The 56-year-old made her final appearance on the ITV daytime show in 2021 after a five-year stint.
Following her exit, Khan participated in the 2021 edition of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins but had to withdraw due to medical reasons. She has since made sporadic appearances on Jeremy Vine.
In recent times, Khan has maintained a low profile, focusing on her skincare business. She explained that her choice to step away from regular TV was influenced by feeling misrepresented. Khan expressed gratitude for social media, where she could showcase her multifaceted persona beyond the TV screen.
Reflecting on her television career, Khan admitted to the stress of public scrutiny and unfiltered feedback on her performances. She highlighted the negative impact on her self-confidence and mental well-being, prompting her to prioritize personal growth over TV fame.
Moreover, Khan revealed concerns about her children being affected by the spotlight and the misinterpretation of her public statements. Despite enjoying her time on Loose Women and cherishing relationships with select co-hosts like Coleen Nolan, Ruth Langsford, and Denise Welch, Khan has no immediate plans for a full-time TV comeback.
While focusing on expanding her business, Khan remains open to participating in reality shows like I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Strictly Come Dancing, or Race Across The World in the future.
