Scarlett Moffatt has addressed the heated dispute involving Adam Thomas and David Haye during their time on I’m A Celebrity: South Africa. The Gogglebox star revealed that she had cautioned David about crossing the line with his remarks towards Adam.
David, aged 45, found himself in the spotlight after targeting Emmerdale actor Adam for opting out of a trial due to not feeling well. Scarlett, speaking on Good Morning Britain before the live final, shared her thoughts on the jungle experience, emphasizing how she voiced her concerns to David. She mentioned, “I think we’re all trauma-bonded. I genuinely got on with everyone in there. I was quite vocal when I thought [David Haye] was taking it too far and said: ‘Stop now David you’re taking it too far.’ I don’t think he meant anything by what he said, but his delivery… It was shocking.”
Although there were tensions in the jungle, Scarlett later confirmed that Adam and David had reconciled. Furthermore, she delighted fans by announcing her pregnancy with partner Scott Dobinson, expressing gratitude for the unexpected joy. Reflecting on her jungle experience, she acknowledged the support received and the challenges faced during that time.
Despite the past conflicts, the cast members remain connected through a WhatsApp group. Adam revealed seeking therapy post-jungle to understand his reactions, especially towards David’s behavior. David, on the other hand, defended his actions as banter rather than bullying, expressing mixed feedback received on his conduct.
Adam, diagnosed with an autoimmune condition, shared his post-jungle struggles and the impact of the experience on his mental well-being. He highlighted the necessity of therapy to cope with the aftermath and the changed perspective gained from the ordeal. Resolving their differences, Adam mentioned David’s apology and acknowledged his underlying positive qualities.
