The situation unfolded on Bolton Road in Ashton-in-Makerfield, prompting a swift and urgent reaction on Wednesday, January 7. Reports indicate that some of the students sustained potentially life-altering injuries.

Greater Manchester Police released a statement revealing that three high school students had fallen through a window on the bus’s top deck. The individuals were promptly transported to a hospital for treatment due to the seriousness of their injuries. Following initial investigations by the emergency crews, the road was reopened to traffic.

Inspector Simon Barrie of the Wigan District emphasized the gravity of the situation, highlighting the importance of providing necessary medical care to the affected children. While the injuries are severe, they are fortunately not believed to be life-threatening. Authorities are actively probing the incident to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the event.

Expressing concern and support, a local councillor for Ashton-in-Makerfield South Ward conveyed thoughts and solidarity with the injured youngsters and their families. The schools involved have been contacted to offer assistance and resources if required. The community remains united in extending love and well-wishes during this challenging time.
