Jake Shears, the renowned singer known for his role as co-lead vocalist in the popular 2000s band Scissor Sisters, has recently made his debut appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox. His chart-topping hits include I Don’t Feel Like Dancin, Take Your Mama, and Filthy/Gorgeous. Even after the band’s break, Jake successfully pursued a solo career. Presently, he can be seen on the latest season of Celebrity Gogglebox alongside Josh Homme.
Apart from his musical endeavors, Jake’s personal life has often grabbed headlines, particularly his past relationship with Chris Moukarbel, an American-Lebanese film director and artist. The couple dated for 11 years before parting ways in 2015, which deeply affected Jake. Reflecting on their split, Jake revealed on the Annie Mac Changes podcast in 2023 that towards the end of their relationship, they were non-monogamous, dating other people, which led to their eventual breakup.
Jake also expressed feeling a sense of identity loss following the hiatus of Scissor Sisters around the same time as his split with Chris. Moving to Los Angeles with his ex-partner, Jake found himself disconnected from his previous life in New York and the band, further contributing to his emotional turmoil.
