A shopper at Primark’s flagship store in Birmingham had a disturbing encounter when they noticed a live mouse inside a closed pillow package. The incident, captured on video by a customer named Giorgio, showed the rodent moving around in a £12 memory foam pillow. Staff members were reportedly surprised by the discovery when alerted by Giorgio.
Giorgio, who originally hails from Italy but now resides in Moseley, described seeing the mouse moving inside the sealed plastic packaging of the pillow. Another customer who witnessed the incident reportedly laughed it off, but Giorgio left the store feeling the need to thoroughly clean everything in the future, regardless of packaging.
Video footage showed the mouse trying to escape from the pillow packaging, and later, it was observed roaming freely in the store, even venturing into a basket filled with pillows where it was seen consuming sweet wrappers. Giorgio mentioned that the mouse seemed to have created a nest under some cushions in the store.
Primark responded to the incident by stating that they were taking immediate action to address the situation, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards in all their stores. Despite the incident, the store remains open for business as usual.
