Sinitta, the renowned pop icon, recently shared details about her past marriage with Andy Willner, describing it as a “revenge move” aimed at Simon Cowell. She also disclosed that maintaining a friendship with Simon’s partner, Lauren Silverman, played a crucial role in her emotional healing process.
Sinitta, aged 62, finally opened up about her long-standing connection with the Britain’s Got Talent impresario, revealing their initial encounter at a London nightclub during the early 1980s.
Despite a tumultuous on-and-off romance spanning two decades, Sinitta and Simon remained close friends, with Sinitta even appearing regularly on his reality TV shows. However, Sinitta has now exposed the underlying emotions she experienced post their separation.
During a conversation on the Suddenly Single podcast, she expressed, “I was striving to make that relationship work. His perspective was to be patient, and you will eventually have everything you desire.” Sinitta added, “I presumed that having everything I wanted meant a traditional family life with him. Then he found his true love and started a family. Silly me.”
Following her candid revelations, Sinitta also delved into her marriage to businessman Andy Willner. They wed in 2002 and adopted children Magdalena and Zac. Sinitta admitted that the marriage originated as a reaction to Simon’s reluctance to commit.
She remarked, “The man I married was truly wonderful. Initially, it was a form of retaliation, but it evolved into something more. However, it was evident that there were unresolved feelings regarding Simon throughout the relationship.”
After seven years together, the couple parted ways, with Andy relocating to Hong Kong. Sinitta confessed to engaging in subsequent relationships as acts of “retaliation” to prove a point to Simon.
Despite her complex emotions, Sinitta chose to maintain a close bond with Simon’s current fiancée, Lauren, 48, who shares a son named Eric with Simon. Sinitta even serves as the 12-year-old’s godmother.
Sinitta revealed how she strived to suppress her feelings by remaining best friends with Lauren and continuing to collaborate with her. She expressed that the news of Lauren and Simon expecting a baby felt like the “end of an era.”
