Sir Tom Jones Sells LA Mansion After Wife’s Passing

Published on

Sir Tom Jones recently shared the deep sorrow he experienced after losing his wife, leading him to sell their lavish £6.5 million residence in Los Angeles. The 85-year-old music legend openly discussed his choice to permanently move back to the UK, leaving behind all the furnishings and fixtures for the new owner.

The decision to part ways with their LA home was influenced by the passing of his wife in 2016 after 59 years of marriage. Melinda, Tom’s wife, tragically lost her battle with lung cancer at the age of 75. Tom revealed that his wife longed to return to Britain as she was always homesick, but due to her illness, they couldn’t fulfill that wish until her final days.

Reflecting on the memories, Tom mentioned that his wife had meticulously decorated their LA home, so the new owner opted to purchase it with all the furniture intact, except for personal photographs and some artwork. This arrangement worked well for Tom, considering the challenge of fitting everything into a London flat.

Despite facing difficulties with mobility following a hip replacement surgery, Tom expressed his joy at being able to walk normally again. He humorously mentioned that his stage dance moves were not affected by his leg but rather by the natural changes that come with age, acknowledging that he may not move as energetically as before.

Tom Jones’s resilience and return to his musical pursuits showcase his unwavering spirit in overcoming personal challenges while honoring the memory of his beloved wife.
