Sky Mobile Announces £1.50 Monthly Bill Increase

Published on

Millions of Sky Mobile subscribers are set to experience an increase in their monthly bills starting next month following a newly announced adjustment. The majority of customers will witness a £1.50 per month increment, equivalent to an annual rise of £18, although some may face varied adjustments.

The revised pricing will take effect on February 14, 2026, marking the first price alteration for in-contract Sky Mobile customers in over seven years. Subscribers within their contract’s minimum term can opt to cancel their package without incurring early termination fees if they are dissatisfied with the price hike.

Notably, the cost of the Sky Mobile social tariff, designed for individuals with low incomes, will remain unchanged. Sky attributed the price adjustment to escalating wholesale network expenses and assured customers that they would be notified promptly if their bills are affected.

A spokesperson from Sky Mobile explained, “To maintain the quality, service, and value our customers expect, the majority of Sky Mobile users will experience a £1.50 monthly increase starting February.” The spokesperson emphasized the careful consideration behind the decision, highlighting the company’s avoidance of mid-contract price adjustments for more than seven years.

In a related development, O2 disclosed that nearly all mobile and SIM-only contract clients would face a £2.50 monthly increase from April 2026, higher than the initially planned £1.80 rise. Additionally, Three mobile customers opting for data plans of 4GB or less will encounter a £1.80 monthly hike from April, representing an 80p increase compared to the current £1 raise.

Customers on data plans ranging from 4GB to 100GB will witness a £1.90 increase in their monthly fees starting April 2026, while those with over 100GB will face a £2.30 raise. Three broadband customers can anticipate a £3.50 monthly bill hike from the same period.

Vodafone mobile subscribers signing up from November 12 will experience a £2.50 monthly increase, with Basics SIM plan users facing a £1.50 rise. Broadband customers of Vodafone will see a £3.50 monthly price adjustment. Existing Vodafone and Three customers will witness price increments according to their existing agreements.
