The Sony World Photography Awards have announced the finalists for the 2026 competition, featuring stunning images from photographers worldwide. Over 430,000 photos were submitted from 200 countries, showcasing the beauty of nature and wildlife. The selected images will be exhibited at Somerset House in London from April 17 to May 4, 2026.

In the Professional competition, photographers compete in 10 categories, submitting series of five to 10 images per category. Winners will be chosen for each category, with one overall ‘Photographer of the Year’ selected. Jury Chair Monica Allende praised the entrants for their storytelling and creativity, capturing the essence of the human experience in their work.

Viewers are encouraged to share their favorite images from the gallery and appreciate the diverse perspectives captured by the photographers. The photographs range from a Greyhound in action to the scenic landscapes of Patagonia and intimate moments with wildlife like a young gorilla named Engonga. Each image tells a unique story, showcasing the talent and dedication of the photographers behind the lens.
