Strictly Come Dancing recently introduced five fresh professional dancers following a significant overhaul that led to the departure of some well-known faces from the show. The shake-up, dubbed a “mass cull” by many, bid farewell to seasoned professionals Karen Hauer, Gorka Márquez, Nadiya Bychkova, Luba Mushtuk, and Michelle Tsiakkas.
Additionally, the long-term hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman left at the conclusion of the previous season, making way for Johannes Radebe, Emma Willis, and Josh Widdecombe as their replacements. The new additions, originating from the UK, Canada, Italy, South Africa, and Ukraine, expressed their eagerness to don their sequins and step into the limelight.
Among the newcomers is Aleksandra Isaeva, a multiple Ukrainian Latin champion, who expressed her excitement about joining the show and learning from the talented dancers and choreographers. Cristian Priori, a four-time Italian Latin champion, also shared his enthusiasm for embarking on this new journey of self-expression through dance.
Joining them is Lethabo Monametsi, the undefeated South African Latin champion, who described her appearance on Strictly as a dream come true and a humbling experience. UK Ballroom Champion Maddie Ingoldsby expressed her gratitude and excitement at the opportunity to showcase her passion for dance on such a renowned platform.
Mark Karmalita, the Canadian National Latin Champion, highlighted the honor of joining the historic and heartfelt atmosphere of Strictly. As anticipation builds for the upcoming season, eight stars have already been announced as part of the lineup, including Jaime Winstone, Lacey Turner, Dani Dyer, and Cach Mercer.
The new dancers will join the returning professionals like Alexis Warr, Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Carlos Gu, Dianne Buswell, Jowita Przystal, and others. Carlos, who emerged victorious in the previous season with former England Lionesses footballer Karen Carney, is set to leave a mark on the dance floor once again.
