An individual working as a stripper was taken into custody for allegedly beheading her partner, whom she had been with for just two months. The incident occurred in Anaheim, California, where Enrique Gonzalez-Carbajal, 55, was discovered decapitated in Alyssa Marie Lira’s residence on August 25. Lira, 23, was identified as the prime suspect but managed to escape to Mexico before authorities could apprehend her.
Subsequently, Lira, who was employed as an exotic dancer at the time of the incident, was extradited from Mexico to face charges. She is set to be charged with murder along with a weapon-related felony enhancement.
The couple initially met while Lira was performing at a local strip club in California, as per the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. Despite their brief relationship, Enrique’s life came to a tragic end within two months.
Law enforcement collaborated with the FBI and Mexican authorities to locate and arrest Lira on January 22. Following her arrest, she was transferred to Orange County authorities the next day at the San Ysidro Port of Entry.
Details regarding the exact location in Mexico where Lira was found remain undisclosed. Prosecutors have not disclosed a motive for the violent act. If convicted, Lira could potentially face up to 26 years in prison.
The suspect is scheduled for arraignment on February 13 and is presently detained without bail at the Orange County Jail. The arraignment will take place at the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
District Attorney Todd Spitzer emphasized the commitment to pursuing justice, regardless of geographical barriers, in a statement. He commended the joint efforts of law enforcement agencies across borders in apprehending the suspect and ensuring accountability.
In a separate incident, a father was arrested for allegedly murdering his four children and concealing their bodies in his car while continuing to engage in social activities. Wellington Delano Dickens III, 38, was charged with four counts of first-degree murder after contacting the authorities and admitting to severe discipline of his children.
Upon responding to the call, law enforcement discovered the deceased children in Dickens’ vehicle in North Carolina. Additionally, Dickens was accused of using a dating app to invite individuals over following the tragic event.
