Susan Boyle has expressed her support for the Scotland men’s national football team ahead of their World Cup debut. The renowned Scottish singer, famous for her iconic 2009 Britain’s Got Talent audition where she performed “I Dreamed A Dream” from Les Misérables, shared a positive message on social media. In a lively video, Boyle, 65, showcased her national team’s jersey, stating, “No Scotland no party.” She encouraged the team, saying, “I had a dream! Scotland has a dream! You can do this!”
Boyle’s show of solidarity coincides with the team’s return to the World Cup after 28 years. Notable figures like First Minister John Swinney, actor Gerard Butler, and singer Clare Grogan have traveled to Boston to witness Scotland’s opening match against Haiti on Saturday at 9pm local time – 2am BST.
Recently, Boyle had to cancel a performance in the US due to her manager’s health issues following dental work. Despite her growing career resurgence, she had to forgo the opportunity to perform at the David Yarrow Foundation event, scheduled just before Scotland’s World Cup appearance.
Although fans were puzzled by Boyle’s absence from the event, she clarified on social media that her manager’s health condition prevented their travel. The David Yarrow Foundation, established by the family of a renowned photographer, focuses on raising funds for cancer care research and promoting the arts in Scotland. Susan was a key performer at the One More Party event alongside other Scottish talents.
In a surprise return to social media, Boyle showcased a new look and hinted at a potential music comeback. However, it was later revealed that she would be featured in an ice cream ad campaign rather than releasing a new album. Collaborating with Cornetto, Boyle recorded a dance-infused version of the brand’s jingle, titled “Just One Cornetto (reMAXed).”
Reflecting on her return to the studio, Boyle expressed her nerves but also her joy at being back in the recording environment. She emphasized her love for singing and the sense of belonging it brought her.
