The sibling of Suzy Lamplugh, who was tragically murdered, has made a heartfelt plea to solve the mystery of her disappearance after 40 years, appealing for assistance in locating her remains.
Suzy Lamplugh, aged 25, went missing on July 28, 1986, in Fulham, London, after arranging to meet a client known as “Mr Kipper.” Despite being declared dead in 1993 and identified as a murder victim, her body was never recovered. In 2002, John Cannan was identified as the prime suspect by Scotland Yard investigators, but insufficient evidence prevented charges. Cannan passed away in 2024 while serving a life sentence for another murder.
With the 40th anniversary of Suzy’s disappearance approaching, her brother Richard, aged 66, expressed the family’s dwindling hope for justice but reiterated the desire to locate her remains for closure and a proper farewell.
Richard shared, “Our key priority is finding Suzy’s remains. If anyone possesses information, please inform the authorities for resolution.” He expressed the family’s challenges in searching for her body effectively and emphasized the importance of police involvement in any potential findings.
Detectives from the cold-case homicide unit have been reexamining Operation Phoebus, the initial investigation into Suzy’s disappearance, to uncover new leads and information.
Despite the thorough investigations over the years, Suzy’s family continues to seek closure and answers regarding her fate, especially following the deaths of their parents who passed away without knowing the truth.
