A young British man faced a life-threatening situation after being viciously attacked with a knife while chasing a thief in Tenerife during his inaugural boys’ vacation. Theo Wright, 18, pursued the mugger who stole his friend’s phone early on Tuesday, February 17, but ended up suffering severe stab wounds to his neck and lung in the process. Promptly administering first aid, two bystanders assisted Theo until medical help arrived.

The assault occurred in Playa de las Americas, a popular spot among British tourists on the island of Tenerife. Known for its lively nightlife, constant sunshine, and bustling sandy beaches, the resort has been a favorite destination since its establishment in the 1960s.

Theo, hailing from Royton near Oldham, was urgently taken to the hospital in critical condition but is now anticipated to fully recover, although he will need to remain in Tenerife for at least two weeks before being cleared to return home.
