A court was told that a teenage boy fatally stabbed a 16-year-old boy at Seaford railway station in East Sussex in September 2025. The accused teenager, now on trial at Hove Crown Court, has admitted to a manslaughter charge but denies the murder charge.
The victim, Joshua Ingram, was with a friend at the station when the defendant approached and attacked him with a knife without warning. Witnesses described the defendant’s calm demeanor and lack of hesitation during the incident.
The prosecution alleges that the stabbing was planned by the accused teenager and two other youths over an unpaid £20 cannabis debt. Snapchat messages presented in court suggest a threatening tone towards the victim prior to the attack.
The defense argues that the accused only intended to cause “some harm” and disputes the prosecution’s claim of intent to cause serious harm or murder. The trial is ongoing as the court deliberates on the evidence presented.
The 15-year-old defendant faces charges of assisting an offender, while the 17-year-old has already pleaded guilty to related charges. The trial proceedings continue as the legal teams present their cases to the jury.
