Two adolescents were swiftly taken to a medical facility after plunging from a cliff in a national park. Responders were alerted to the incident at Berowra Valley National Park in Cherrybrook around 5:15 pm on January 30. A 17-year-old boy sustained various injuries in the fall, while a 16-year-old girl required attention from NSW Ambulance personnel after also descending the cliff.

Authorities from South Wales Police have initiated an inquiry to determine the sequence of events. A spokesperson from NSW police stated, “Investigations are ongoing following the injuries sustained by two teenagers who fell 10 meters off a cliff in Sydney’s north-west. The emergency response at Berowra Valley National Park in Cherrybrook commenced at 5:15 pm on Friday, January 30, 2026, where it was discovered that a 17-year-old boy had sustained multiple injuries in the accident.

“A medical team, transported to the site by a TOLL helicopter shortly after, has been working to stabilize the boy. Reports indicate that he is in critical condition and will be transferred by road ambulance to Royal North Shore Hospital once he reaches the cliff top.

“The 16-year-old girl, who also fell over the cliff, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and has been safely evacuated to Royal North Shore Hospital. Her condition is said to be stable.

“Additionally, a 47-year-old woman received treatment at the scene for shock.

“Officers from The Hills Police Area Command are supporting paramedics, in conjunction with members of the Rural Fire Service. The operation is ongoing.”
