Tesco Pharmacies: Your Trusted Health Partner

When it comes to maintaining our well-being, sometimes we all could use a bit of extra guidance and assistance. Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK and catering to more than half a million customers weekly, is dedicated to lending a helping hand. Whether you need to pick up your prescriptions, utilize their wide range of healthcare services, or have a chat with their expert pharmacists while doing your regular shopping, Tesco is there for you.

Managing essential health check-ups amidst a hectic schedule can be challenging for many individuals. Seeking answers to health concerns from online sources when time is short often adds more stress than comfort. “This is why we offer convenient and swift pharmacy services, health guidance, and health and wellness products in our pharmacies for our customers to access while they shop,” explains Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.

From flu shots and vaccinations to weight management assistance, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies serve as a one-stop destination for friendly advice. “A brief stop at the store can provide crucial reassurance or the assistance our customers require,” mentions Tom.

Moreover, pharmacists can help save your time by prescribing treatments for various common ailments such as sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.

For individuals dealing with long-term health conditions, Tesco Pharmacies offer specialized support. “Our Tesco Pharmacists have undergone additional training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and British Heart Foundation to offer information and aid, increase awareness, and lower the risk of cancer, heart and circulatory diseases, and type 2 diabetes,” discloses Tom. “When shopping at Tesco, simply approach the pharmacy counter and request to speak with the pharmacist wearing a Let’s Talk badge.”

“If you have inquiries regarding your heart health, our pharmacy teams are available for a quick, friendly walk-in blood pressure check – no appointment required,” states Tom. “A brief visit to the store can provide peace of mind or prompt assistance if needed.”

In the current year alone, Tesco Pharmacies have conducted over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure screenings for customers – a beneficial service making a significant impact.

The advantages of in-store pharmacy services are not exclusive to customers. “Tesco employees can also benefit from the convenience of support provided through our pharmacies and additional health services,” Tom mentions. “All team members have access to virtual GP consultations and extra aid on topics like sleep therapy, nutrition, physical activity, and mental well-being through the Employee Assistance Programme.”
