Tesco is set to distribute numerous complimentary Christmas trees for a single day only. These “wonky” trees, typically not suitable for sale due to minor imperfections like uneven branches or slight leaning, will be given away on Saturday, December 6, in selected Tesco stores. Recipients are encouraged to donate to food charities Fareshare and Trussell when taking a tree. The giveaway locations include Colney Hatch Extra, Borehamwood Extra, Hammersmith, Southport Extra, Goole Superstore, Glossop Superstore, Bristol Brislington Extra, Cardiff Extra, Dundee Riverside Extra, and Glasgow Maryhill Extra. The offer starts at 10 am on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to one tree per household. Comparable Christmas trees elsewhere are priced at £13.99 in Aldi and £14.99 in Home Bargains.
In a recent survey by Tesco, nearly a quarter of Brits (24%) revealed that they plan to decorate their Christmas tree on the second weekend of December. Despite this, 87% of individuals agreed that Christmas does not have to be flawless to be special, with 74% emphasizing that imperfect moments contribute to the festive spirit. The survey, conducted by Censuswide, involved 2,000 UK adults from August 22 to 28 and December 1 to 2.
Furthermore, Tesco announced a promotion offering Clubcard members double points for every £1 spent on gift cards throughout December. This promotion covers all third-party gift cards purchased in Tesco stores, automatically awarding double points to the Clubcard account. Tesco, with approximately 24 million Clubcard members, typically grants one point for every £1 spent on groceries and fuel, with additional points for activities like Tesco Mobile and credit card usage. Members can redeem 150 points for a £1.50 Clubcard voucher for use in Tesco stores.
