“Tesco’s In-Store Pharmacies: Your One-Stop Health Destination”

When it comes to maintaining our well-being, sometimes we require extra assistance and guidance. With over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK, catering to over half a million customers weekly, Tesco is readily available to provide support. They offer easy access to prescriptions, a wide range of healthcare services, and the opportunity to consult with their expert pharmacists while you do your regular shopping.

For many individuals, fitting in crucial health check-ups amid their hectic schedules can be challenging. Turning to online resources for solutions to health concerns can often lead to more stress than reassurance when time is limited. “That’s why we provide swift and convenient pharmacy services, health advice, and health and wellness products in our pharmacies to assist customers while they are already in the store,” explains Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.

From flu vaccinations and vaccines to weight management services, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies serve as a one-stop destination for friendly guidance. “Just a brief visit to the store can offer crucial reassurance or the assistance our customers require,” states Tom.

In addition, pharmacists can help save valuable time by prescribing treatments for various common ailments such as sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.

Moreover, Tesco Pharmacists have undergone additional training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation to provide information, support, and awareness on cancer, heart and circulatory diseases, and type 2 diabetes. “While shopping at Tesco, simply approach the pharmacy counter and request to speak with the pharmacist wearing a Let’s Talk badge,” highlights Tom.

“If you have inquiries about your heart health, our pharmacy teams are available for a quick, friendly walk-in blood pressure check – hassle-free, no appointment necessary,” mentions Tom. “A brief visit to the store can offer peace of mind or prompt support if needed.”

This year, Tesco Pharmacies have conducted over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure tests for customers—an impactful service. The benefits of in-store pharmacy services are not limited to customers alone. “Tesco employees can also avail themselves of the convenience of support services through our pharmacies and other health offerings,” adds Tom.

“All employees have access to virtual GP appointments and additional assistance on areas like sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme.”
