Jenny Ryan, known as ‘the Vixen,’ has been a prominent figure on the popular TV show, The Chase, since 2015, alongside other formidable quizzers like Mark Labbett, Paul Sinha, and Anne Hegerty. The show, which premiered on ITV in 2009, has seen a multitude of contestants challenging the Chasers with varying degrees of success.
Acknowledging the intense atmosphere the team creates in the studio, Jenny, 44, expressed a desire for contestants to perform at their best, even if it falls short of her own expertise. She emphasized the importance of facing off against skilled competitors to keep the challenge engaging.
Discussing the show’s set design, Jenny revealed that it is intentionally designed to add pressure to the participants, aiming to create a tense environment. Despite this, she highlighted the need to manage personal stress during filming, resorting to relaxation techniques like deep breathing and chamomile tea.
Before joining The Chase, Jenny navigated a diverse work life, balancing multiple jobs to make ends meet. Her transition to becoming a Chaser was facilitated by her participation in a pub quiz league alongside Anne Hegerty, known as ‘The Governess.’
Since her debut on the show, Jenny has garnered a strong fan following and recently provided insights into her experiences on The Chase. Following a recent health update revealing a surgical scar from thyroid gland removal, Jenny assured fans of her recovery and well-being.
