A tragic incident unfolded in an upscale suburb of Perth, Western Australia, as a couple reportedly took the lives of their two teenage sons before ending their own. The bodies of Jarrod Clune, 50, his partner Maiwenna Goasdoue, 49, and their sons Leon, 16, and Otis, 14, were discovered inside their residence, sending shockwaves through the local community.
The heartbreaking discovery was made after a caregiver, who assisted the boys with non-verbal autism, attempted to contact the family but found a note instructing not to enter the premises and to alert emergency services. Subsequently, all family members, including their pets, were found deceased inside the home.
Law enforcement officers, responding to the scene on a Friday morning, located the bodies in various areas of the house. While no weapons were found, the deaths did not exhibit signs of extreme violence. Homicide detective Jessica Securo indicated that the investigation was leaning towards a murder-suicide scenario, which was reinforced by a second note discovered the following day.
The exact cause of death has yet to be disclosed by authorities. Aerial images of the property revealed potential bloodstains near the rear of the residence. The police spokesperson mentioned that the case was still under investigation and declined to provide further details at that time.
An acquaintance of the family shed light on their struggles, citing challenges with support services and the healthcare system. Allegations surfaced that the family had lost government aid for one of their children’s support. The family friend expressed the family’s feelings of isolation and lack of support, emphasizing the difficulty in accessing essential services.
