A tragic incident in Japan resulted in the death of a 23-year-old woman when a man fell from a 12-story building and landed on her. The man survived the fall, but the woman, identified as Tomohiro Inaba, tragically passed away due to haemorrhagic shock after being taken to the hospital.

The unfortunate event occurred in Naka-ku, Nagoya City, with emergency services responding to a call reporting the incident around 1 am on July 19. The man who fell, Nobushige Taguchi, 29, also a shop worker, sustained severe head and chest injuries, leaving him in critical condition in a coma.

The location of the incident was near Yabamachi Station on the Nagoya Municipal Subway Meijo Line, an area filled with high-rise buildings and apartments, as reported by Kyodo News. The victim’s friend, who was walking alongside her, was unharmed, but other witnesses rushed to the scene upon hearing the commotion.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s fall, whether it was intentional or accidental. The area was sealed off for forensic analysis, although the specific floor from which the man fell remains undisclosed. Reports indicate that the man was not a resident of the building, prompting further inquiry into his presence there.

This incident follows a similar tragedy in Milan, where an 83-year-old woman, Francesca Manno, lost her life after being struck by a 70-year-old man who jumped from a fourth-floor apartment. Initially thought to be a double suicide attempt, investigations revealed that the individuals were strangers, and Ms. Manno’s death was deemed accidental.
