A tragic incident occurred at a house party in Huddersfield last summer where a young woman, described as having a “beautiful soul,” lost her life.
During the party on August 8, Polly Zajdler, 29, attended with her boyfriend Scott. Reports from Bradford Coroners’ Court revealed that Zajdler consumed alcohol and a mix of prescribed and controlled drugs. As the night progressed, Zajdler’s friends noticed her unsteadiness and assisted her upstairs to rest, as per Yorkshire Live.
Scott later checked on Zajdler around 5 am the next day and discovered her unresponsive. An ambulance was called, but despite efforts to revive her, Zajdler tragically passed away.
Assistant coroner Caroline Chandler disclosed that toxicology results indicated the presence of multiple substances in Zajdler’s system, which contributed to her demise. Authorities confirmed no foul play in her death and noted that three other individuals at the party also combined prescription drugs, controlled substances, and alcohol.
Chandler highlighted that the interaction between the drugs and alcohol amplified sedative effects, leading to respiratory issues.
Following Zajdler’s passing, a fundraiser was initiated by her loved ones to assist with funeral expenses. Described as a “free spirit” who enjoyed music, animals, and had a unique style, Zajdler, a photography student and care navigator, was deeply missed by her wide circle of friends.
The fundraiser reflected on Zajdler’s loving nature and the significant impact she had on those around her. Nearly 200 contributors generously supported Zajdler’s funeral fund, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support and fond memories shared during her memorial service.
The community’s support and attendance at the funeral service were acknowledged, with heartfelt thanks for honoring Polly’s life in a manner that truly reflected her spirit and brought solace to her loved ones.
