A 10-year-old girl, initially thought to have eye strain from excessive tablet use, tragically passed away after it was discovered that she had a deadly brain tumor. Myla Lilly Broadey-Meears was diagnosed with an aggressive diffuse midline glioma just months after experiencing headaches and dizziness, leading to her untimely death in January of this year.

The young girl’s health deteriorated while on a family vacation in Filey, North Yorkshire, prompting her mother, Chantelle Broadey, to seek medical attention at Specsavers. Initially attributing Myla’s symptoms to eye strain, Chantelle was devastated to learn the true cause.

Following a visit to the hospital, Myla was diagnosed with a sizable tumor and underwent surgery to remove a significant portion of it. Despite undergoing extensive radiotherapy treatments, Myla succumbed to the illness on January 15. Her family is now dedicated to honoring her memory and raising funds for The Brain Tumour Charity, while also advocating for greater awareness of the symptoms associated with such conditions.

Chantelle fondly remembers her daughter as a brave and beautiful soul who enjoyed various activities like cheerleading and beach trips. Reflecting on the sudden onset of symptoms, Chantelle expressed regret over not acting sooner but hopes that sharing Myla’s story will help other families in similar circumstances.

Myla’s father, Zak Meears, described her as a loving and cherished family member, emphasizing the importance of keeping her memory alive.
