A popular university student named Olivia Wojciechowska tragically passed away at a Halloween rave after collapsing suddenly following MDMA consumption. The 19-year-old experienced a seizure at the party and was swiftly taken to the hospital. Despite medical efforts, her condition worsened, leading to her transfer from the Royal Liverpool Hospital to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where she eventually succumbed on November 7, 2025.
Described as a vibrant and sociable individual, Olivia was known for her lively presence at social gatherings and her active participation in the Cheer Society at John Moores University. Friends fondly recalled her enthusiasm for dressing up and engaging with others, highlighting her popularity among peers.
An inquest revealed that Olivia, a second-year business student, had attended the Halloween rave at Blackstone Street Warehouse in Vauxhall on November 1, 2024. Prior to the event, she had disclosed to a friend that she possessed MDMA. Witnesses reported seeing her consume the drug before collapsing later in the evening, prompting immediate medical attention.
Despite efforts to stabilize her condition, Olivia’s health deteriorated rapidly, leading to organ failure and the need for a liver transplant. Tragically, she passed away before the transplant could be performed. The coroner confirmed the cause of death as multi-organ failure, acute liver failure, and drug intoxication, emphasizing the fatal consequences of consuming ecstasy at the rave.
In a selfless act, Olivia had registered as an organ donor, providing her lungs and heart to save the lives of two individuals. Following her passing, a funeral service was held in Northern Ireland, where she was repatriated for her final farewell.
