A tragic incident occurred in the Bucegi Mountains in Romania when a tourist, Antonia Mihăilescu, plummeted 40ft down a rock face during a climbing expedition. Antonia, an experienced alpinist, was descending the Albișoara Brânei route with three male climbers and an instructor when a safety rope anchor failed, causing all four individuals to fall.

The fall resulted in fatal injuries for Antonia, while the three men sustained severe injuries but survived.
