President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, giving them a 48-hour ultimatum to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face severe consequences for their power facilities.
This ultimatum follows a statement from the foreign ministers of G7 nations, expressing readiness to take necessary actions to ensure the global energy supply.
The G7 ministers strongly condemned Iran’s irresponsible attacks on civilians and critical energy infrastructure in several countries, citing violations of UNSC Resolution 2817 and emphasizing the threat these actions pose to regional and global security.
In addition, the ministers called for an immediate cessation of all Iranian attacks and emphasized the importance of protecting maritime routes, navigation safety, and energy market stability, including in the Strait of Hormuz.
President Trump reiterated his ultimatum on Truth Social, warning Iran to fully open the Strait of Hormuz within the specified timeframe to avoid targeted strikes on their power plants, starting with the largest one.
