President Trump has made the decision to halt all trade activities with Spain. During a press conference at the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, he instructed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to sever all trade connections with the European nation.

Trump expressed his disapproval of Spain’s lack of participation and financial contribution to NATO, stating, “We no longer wish to engage in trade with Spain. They are unreliable partners, and I want no association with them.” He emphasized the need to immediately cease all trade dealings and visits with Spain.

In addition, Trump declared an end to the ceasefire with Iran, citing recent military actions in the Middle East. He labeled Iran as untrustworthy and indicated a reluctance to negotiate further with them.

Despite Trump’s stance on Spain, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte affirmed the United States’ unwavering commitment to the alliance. Rutte stressed the importance of equalizing defense spending among NATO members, highlighting the shared interest in safeguarding against potential threats, such as Russian submarines.

Trump raised concerns about Nato’s response to US initiatives, particularly referencing the UK’s initial denial of using British bases for military operations. He expressed discontent with the handling of strategic decisions and reiterated his grievances at the summit, including the controversial issue of Greenland’s status within the alliance.
