“Trump Shares AI Image: ‘CALM BEFORE THE STORM'”

Published on

Donald Trump caused a stir on social media once more by sharing a striking AI-generated image that captivated Washington, Tehran, and online users.

The image, unveiled on Truth Social shortly after midnight, depicted the president standing in front of a formation of US warships under stormy skies with lightning breaking through menacing clouds. Emblazoned across the scene were the words: “CALM BEFORE THE STORM.”

The image quickly spread across social media and news channels. Reports had surfaced earlier indicating heightened military readiness by the United States and Israel in case tensions with Iran reignited following a recent ceasefire.

Sources from the Middle East revealed that both nations were gearing up for potential strikes as soon as the upcoming week. The phrase “calm before the storm” carried significant weight for those familiar with Trump’s past actions.

In a notable event from 2017 during his presidency, Trump had used the same phrase while posing with military officials at a White House event. When questioned about its meaning, he cryptically responded, “You’ll find out.”

This sparked intense speculation at the time regarding potential military actions against North Korea or Iran. The phrase became emblematic of Trump’s skill in leveraging ambiguity for strategic purposes.

Nearly ten years later, the AI-generated image evoked a similar sense of unease. The digitally manipulated scene appeared almost cinematic, featuring fighter jets soaring through dark skies and massive warships navigating turbulent waters behind Trump’s silhouette.

Critics accused Trump of stoking fear and escalating tensions online, while supporters lauded the image as a demonstration of strength amidst a volatile geopolitical landscape. Throughout his presidency, Trump frequently employed social media to issue enigmatic warnings to adversaries like North Korea’s Kim Jong Un and Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.

In 2020, following the US operation that eliminated Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, Trump shared a simple image of the American flag on social media, a gesture interpreted by many as both triumphant and menacing. This instance is not the first time Donald Trump or US government entities have utilized AI-generated or AI-enhanced visuals to convey political messages, representing a broader trend in the strategic use of digital imagery.

US government organizations, including those associated with immigration enforcement, have increasingly experimented with AI-generated or AI-enhanced visuals
