Coleen Nolan, a well-known television personality, recently shared a significant relationship update, expressing her fears to the public. The 61-year-old presenter from Loose Women has had a complex personal history, having been married and divorced twice, first to EastEnders actor Shane Richie and later to musician Ray Fensome.
Following her separation from her most recent partner, Michael Jones, in 2024, Coleen has decided to join Celebs Go Dating in her quest to find love once again. She confessed to feeling apprehensive about the experience after dating experts advised her to be more assertive rather than always seeking to please others.
In a conversation with Closer magazine, Coleen disclosed, “They’re really good at giving you the truth and taught me how to be more transparent. I’m scared of hurting anyone to the point where I hurt myself first, and that doesn’t get you anywhere in dating.”
Her previous marriages, first to Shane from 1990 to 1999 and later to Ray in 2007 until their split in 2018, were marked by challenges. She shares two sons with Shane, Shane Jr, 37, and Jake Roche, 33, and a daughter, Ciara, 25, with Ray.
Despite experiencing some disappointments on dating apps, including meeting her most recent boyfriend on Tinder, Coleen has decided to take a different approach this time. She expressed interest in joining Celebs Go Dating after watching the previous season and finding it appealing.
Coleen emphasized that she has one major rule when it comes to pursuing love again, highlighting her recent weight loss journey from a size 20 to a size 14 dress as a source of newfound confidence that motivated her to participate in the show.
Although she acknowledges the challenges of dating in her 60s, Coleen remains optimistic about finding a partner who shares her zest for life. She is determined to avoid returning to dating apps and is eager to explore new possibilities through Celebs Go Dating.
Joining Coleen on the show are well-known personalities such as former England rugby star James Haskell, rapper Professor Green (Stephen Paul Manderson), and ex-Love Island contestant Gabby Allen. The show is set to premiere on E4 starting Monday, May 4, from 9 pm to 10 pm.
