Lorraine Bayly, known for her roles in The Sullivan’s and Play School, passed away at the age of 89 in a Sydney care facility. The news of her death was shared by close friend and journalist Craig Bennett on Sydney’s 2GB radio station on behalf of her family.
Bayly rose to fame playing Grace in The Sullivans and hosting the popular children’s program Play School, which aired from 1976 to 1983. After leaving The Sullivans, she took on the role of solicitor Jennifer Carson in Carson’s Law. In a heartfelt social media tribute, Craig described her as a “showbiz legend, a triple Logie-winning TV treasure, and a dear friend to many.”
He noted that Bayly had retired from acting only a decade ago, leaving behind a remarkable legacy in the entertainment industry.
