Ukraine has conducted devastating attacks on key facilities in Russia, causing injuries and significant damage. The strikes targeted warehouses in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk owned by the online retail giant Wildberries, resulting in estimated damages exceeding £1 billion. Fifteen individuals sustained injuries in the recent assaults, as confirmed by the company’s founder and regional authorities.
Following public pressure, President Volodymyr Zelensky replaced his Commander-in-Chief Gen. Oleksandr Syrskyi with Maj-Gen. Mykhailo Drapatyi, emphasizing modernization. These attacks further strain Vladimir Putin’s already weak economy, increasing the call for peace negotiations.
Additional Wildberries facilities in Elektrostal near Moscow and the Tambov region were also targeted over the weekend, incurring £1.5 billion in damages. Wildberries, linked to the Kremlin, is accused by Ukraine of supporting Putin’s military efforts, owned by Tatyana Kim, Russia’s wealthiest woman.
The assaults caused injuries in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk, with firefighting efforts initiated to contain the extensive fires. The attacks on Wildberries bases showcase vulnerabilities in Putin’s air defenses. Furthermore, an oil depot in Armavir was set ablaze by Ukrainian drones, aiming to exacerbate oil shortages in Russia.
The power plants in Crimea experienced blackouts following Ukrainian strikes, highlighting Ukraine’s increasing advantage in the conflict. Amidst these developments, Zelensky’s decision to replace the General reflects a strategic shift towards embracing advanced warfare technologies.
