Iranian media outlets have reported that a United States air base in Bahrain was destroyed in a drone and missile attack. This incident occurred on Tuesday, March 3, amid ongoing hostilities in the Middle East. The US embassy in Saudi Arabia was also targeted by two drones previously.
In response to joint strikes by Israel and the US on key Iranian sites on February 28, Iran launched retaliatory attacks across the Middle East. Footage released by the Fars news agency, linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), shows rockets hitting distant targets.
According to Fars news agency, the IRGC’s drone and missile assault demolished a US command and staff building at Bahrain’s Sheikh Isa region, causing fuel tanks to explode. The US State Department has advised American citizens to evacuate Bahrain and other Middle Eastern countries immediately.
Smoke was observed rising from a US-operated naval base in Bahrain earlier, as reported by the BBC. The US government has not yet officially responded to these reported strikes.
