“US Continues Airstrikes, Iran Retaliates Across Middle East”

Published on

American forces have continued their airstrikes on Iranian targets for the sixth consecutive night, resulting in at least eight fatalities and 20 injuries. The recent death toll has climbed to nearly 40, with over 400 Iranians wounded since the ceasefire agreement was broken by missile exchanges. The latest US strikes have shifted focus to civilian infrastructure, including bridges, airports, power facilities, and a train station.

Among the heavily impacted targets is Iran’s Eagle airbase in southern Iran, intended to safeguard Tehran’s air force. The airstrikes have caused significant damage to aircraft and infrastructure at the base. The US military presence in the Middle East has been reinforced, with approximately 300 warplanes prepared for potential strikes against Iran.

Reports indicate that the total number of US bombs dropped on Iranian soil has exceeded 13,000. In retaliation, Iran has launched missiles at US assets in Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Qatar, resulting in injuries and damages. Tehran has reiterated its stance that the Strait of Hormuz will remain disrupted, prompting the US to intensify its blockade of ships entering and exiting Iran.

Following the recent strikes, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned of severe consequences for countries hosting US bases if the attacks persist. The IRGC emphasized that targeting civilians and infrastructure will incur a heavy price.

Meanwhile, Iran has extended its attacks to Kuwait, targeting civilian facilities in an attempt to increase pressure on the US. A power and desalination plant in Kuwait was hit, impacting the country’s water supply, which heavily relies on desalinated water for drinking purposes. Efforts are underway to assess the damage and restore operations at the damaged plant.

The escalating conflict and US urgency to conclude the war swiftly have been compounded by renewed threats from the Yemeni Houthis, an influential Iranian proxy group. Recent intelligence suggests that the Houthis have formed an alliance with the Sunni al-Shabab terror group in Somalia, setting aside their religious differences. Iran has reportedly encouraged this alliance and provided drone technology to support potential blockades in the Bab el-Mandab Strait, underlining the escalating tensions in the region.
