President Trump revealed on the Truth Social platform that US Marines intercepted and took possession of an Iranian-flagged cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman after the Iranian crew disregarded commands, leading to a hole being created in the engine room.
Following this incident, the US initiated a blockade on maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports, which Iran perceives as a breach of the two-week ceasefire agreement. In response, Iranian state media reported that Iran has declined a proposed second round of peace talks with the US that were scheduled for Monday evening.
Identified as the TOUSKA, the Iranian-flagged cargo ship intercepted by US Marines was tracked heading towards the Strait of Hormuz from the Arabian Sea, based on data from MarineTraffic.
President Trump reiterated that US Marines successfully intercepted and assumed control of the Iranian-flagged cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman, emphasizing that the Navy intervened due to the Iranian crew’s noncompliance by creating a hole in the ship’s engine room.
