BBC Radio 2 host Vernon Kay has spoken out about his health concerns and aging worries. Turning 52 today, Vernon has been vocal about his commitment to staying fit and healthy. During a recent segment on Fearne Cotton and Gary Davies’ show, he revisited the topic.
Addressing his birthday, Gary mentioned a mix of songs Vernon curated with input from the public. Vernon humorously shared that there was a debate over the playlist focusing on his health issues like bad knees, back problems, and memory loss.
In response, Gary reassured him that wasn’t the case. Vernon then mentioned an improvement in his back pain, noting a significant decrease in discomfort compared to the previous day.
On his commute to work, Vernon received birthday wishes from numerous passengers, highlighting the vast and diverse audience of BBC Radio 2. He expressed gratitude for the well-wishes and the specially curated mini mix.
This isn’t the first time Vernon has discussed his health openly on air. Recently, he shared his experience with Morton’s neuroma, a nerve condition affecting the third and fourth toes. He recounted how a chance encounter at an electric car charging station led to his diagnosis.
During the encounter, Vernon met a foot specialist who eventually diagnosed his condition, leading to further consultations. The specialist’s impromptu assessment at the charging station proved pivotal in identifying and addressing his health issue.
