During a family stay in Praia da Luz on the Algarve, Vernon vividly remembered an incident where he rescued his younger brother from drowning in a pool. He also shared amusing anecdotes from that trip, including his mom’s 40th birthday celebration with peri peri chicken and her first attempt at smoking.

Nowadays, Vernon prefers holidaying with his wife, Tess Daly, and their daughters, Phoebe and Amber. He expressed their interest in exploring more of America in a campervan during his radio show. Recently, Vernon shared glimpses of a family trip to New York City on Instagram, praising the city’s attractions and food.

Meanwhile, Tess Daly recently departed from Strictly Come Dancing after an 11-year stint. She briefly reunited with Vernon on The One Show and focused on her swimwear business. Claudia Winkleman announced her upcoming BBC chat show, set to premiere soon.

As replacements for the Strictly duo are yet to be confirmed, Vernon suggested Alex Jones and Rylan Clark as potential candidates for the hosting roles. He praised Jones for her wit and live TV skills, emphasizing her suitability for the position. Vernon also endorsed Clark’s knowledge of the show as another strong contender.
