Vernon Kay has suggested two potential replacements for his wife, Tess Daly, and Claudia Winkleman on the popular BBC show, Strictly Come Dancing. Last October, the hosts announced their decision to step down from the show, with their final appearance scheduled for Christmas Day 2025.

Speculation has been swirling about who might fill their roles, with names like Holly Willoughby, Zoe Ball, Roman Kemp, Alan Carr, Bradley Walsh, and Emma Willis all being considered.

Vernon has a strong preference for a Welsh star as a replacement, describing them as the “funniest presenter” he has worked with. In a recent interview, he recommended Alex Jones for the role, emphasizing her comedic talents and live TV skills. He also suggested Rylan as a potential candidate for another role on the show.

Alex Jones, a seasoned live broadcaster from BBC’s The One Show, has worked alongside various well-known presenters, including Jason Manford, Matt Baker, and Ronan Keating.

Rylan Clark, a BBC Radio 2 star known for shows like Dating Naked UK and Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour, previously hosted Strictly: It Takes Two before leaving in 2023.

Following their announcement, Tess and Claudia expressed their gratitude for their time on Strictly Come Dancing, sharing heartfelt messages on Instagram about their 21-year journey together on the show.

Tess reflected on her experience, describing Strictly as more than just a TV program but a significant part of her life and expressing pride in being involved in a show that brings joy and unity to audiences.
