An aircraft had to perform an emergency landing after losing one of its wheels during take-off. A passenger captured the alarming incident on camera as fellow travelers alerted the cabin crew by shouting about the wheel detachment, which then rolled along the runway. Airport personnel quickly retrieved the missing wheel and metal rings.

The plane, belonging to SpiceJet and equipped with a tricycle landing gear system, managed to continue its journey to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai smoothly despite the initial scare. The incident took place at Kandla Airport in Gujarat, India, on September 12.

Upon landing at 3:51 pm, the pilot safely taxied the aircraft to the terminal without any issues. All passengers and crew emerged unharmed from the ordeal, and airport operations resumed promptly.

This incident occurred just one day after another SpiceJet flight encountered a suspected tailpipe fire at Delhi airport, leading to a significant delay for flight SG041 to Kathmandu. The airline confirmed the precautionary return of the aircraft to the bay after detecting signs of a tailpipe fire on another grounded plane.

Earlier this year, an Etihad airplane bound for Abu Dhabi experienced a rejected take-off at Melbourne Airport due to two exploding wheels. Despite the tense situation, no injuries were reported, and the aircraft was attended to by fire trucks as a safety measure.

Following the incident, repairs were initiated at Melbourne Airport, with one runway temporarily handling all arrivals and departures. Passengers were safely disembarked and transported to the terminal, minimizing disruptions to other flights.
