Woman Declared Deceased in Bolton Walkway Tragedy

Published on

A woman was declared deceased following a rapid response by emergency services to a walkway this morning. Police maintained a cordon near Junction Road in Bolton throughout the afternoon.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the incident is not considered suspicious and was initially prompted by concerns for the individual’s well-being. Two air ambulances touched down near Deane Golf Club, and a pathway adjacent to Deane Church Brook, leading towards the cemetery, was cordoned off. Police officers stood watch at the cordon from morning into the afternoon.

A spokesperson from GMP stated, “Emergency services were alerted to a well-being concern on Junction Road in Bolton earlier today (Monday, 2 March 2026). Unfortunately, a woman was pronounced dead at the location. The area will remain restricted as officers continue their investigation.”
