A woman labeled the ‘world’s worst mother’ is facing a life sentence for allowing her husband to sexually abuse and impregnate their 11-year-old daughter.
Cherie Walker, a resident of Oklahoma in the United States, has been found guilty of aiding her husband, Dustin Walker, in his sexual misconduct, leading to multiple life sentences as reported by the Daily Mail.
In addition to the sexual abuse charges, she has been convicted of six counts of child neglect after it was revealed that their 11-year-old child gave birth in appalling living conditions at their Muskogee residence. The children were raised in squalid conditions without proper clothing, amidst dog waste.
Prosecutors stated that Cherie Walker, aged 34, was aware of her husband Dustin’s abusive behavior towards their 11-year-old daughter but chose not to intervene.
Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson expressed shock at the situation, highlighting the emotional distress caused by the 11-year-old giving birth at home without any medical assistance, while living in deplorable conditions.
The appalling abuse came to light when the girl was taken to the hospital after delivering her stepfather’s child. A DNA test confirmed Dustin as the biological father with 99 percent certainty, according to news outlet KRJH.
Dustin Walker was recently sentenced for his crimes, where he apologized for his actions during the court proceedings.
Having pleaded guilty to multiple charges earlier, Dustin Walker received a 42-year prison sentence along with a life term for the abuse and neglect of a child.
Cherie Walker’s sentencing is pending following her conviction last Friday.
Another adult present in the household, identified as Cherie’s mother Michelle Justus, is set to face trial for child neglect charges on Thursday (July 23).
